Ohouo, such a beautiful person, inside and out. She is always ready to offer her listening ear and most importantly her compassionate advice. After reading her book on Breakups, Healing, and Self Love, I wished I could have found this book sooner, when I was first going through my divorce. Her book was a great help to understand that in life, we have to take small steps to work on ourselves and our own happiness, in order for us to grow and then in turn radiate love that attracts good experiences for us. Her book is the perfect blend of her own life experiences and concise steps to follow in order to help ourselves out of life ruts and heartbreaks. What really helped me was each exercise and self-reflection opportunity after the ending of each chapter. Each time I would be given the opportunity to reflect over my own experiences and limitations, I really could feel that I was taking steps to learn from any mistakes I might have made, or any insights that I might have missed back then, when my judgement was not as clear.
I feel that Ohouo is able to show a clearer perspective on life and love because she has gone through her own tribulations and transformations. In life, we know that this process is not always easy, and we need to be constant in working on ourselves and our wellbeing.
Asking for help with this important task is also something we should not shy away from. Resources such as Ohouo’s book and also her advice when needed are such a blessing. She once said to me: “You might feel you do not have the strength now, but I am here with you, you can draw from my strength in the meantime.” Wow, what an inspiration.
